A conversation: someone asks "How many people in the US search for these each month: seo tools, mcp server, google keyword planner, keyword research tool, free keyword research tool, keyword planner alternative?"; the assistant calls Builders HQ's keyword_volume tool and answers with a table (Keyword, Monthly searches, Competition, Top-of-page bid). "seo tools" is the big one at 165,000 a month, but bids reach $29. "mcp server" has 60,500 searches with a top bid of $11.58, the cheapest traffic of the set.
Real answer, 22 October 2026, United States, Google Ads. The assistant called keyword_volume with locations: ["US"], sort: "volume".

Why it is hard today

Assistants guess

A chatbot asked "how many people search for this" answers from old training data, with confident numbers that no tool ever measured.

Keyword Planner hides the numbers

Without an active ad budget, Google shows ranges like "1K–10K", and its API needs an approved developer token.

Copy, paste, repeat

Export a CSV, clean it, paste it into the chat, ask again for the next country. Each step loses context.

Two search engines, two tools

Bing's numbers live in Microsoft Advertising and Bing Webmaster Tools, each with its own export.

How it works

  1. Add https://buildershq.net/mcp to your assistant and sign in with Google.
  2. Ask in plain words: the keywords, the country, the language. Up to 1,000 keywords go in one call.
  3. Your assistant gets exact monthly averages, competition and the top-of-page bid range, and can sort, filter and compare them for you.

Are these the real Keyword Planner numbers?

Yes. They come from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner) and Microsoft Advertising, as exact monthly averages for the last 12 months, not the ranges the free web tool shows.

No. During the free beta Builders HQ answers from its own Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising accounts, with up to 50 keyword calls a day per account.

Which countries and languages work?

Every country, region and city Google Ads targets, in any language it supports. Microsoft Advertising answers for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany and France.

Which assistants can use it?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers: Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code), ChatGPT in developer mode, Grok, Cursor, VS Code and others.

Try it in your assistant

Free while in beta. Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor and any client that supports remote MCP servers.
